Newcastle is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with excellent theatre and music venues, therefore attracting many popular artists and touring productions. Many of the venues we have listed here offer concessions for older people, so it is worth contacting them before you book.

The Discover Pass is an exclusive pass offering special money-saving deals at some of Tyne and Wear's most popular visitor attractions. NewcastleGateshead, Sunderland, North Tyneside and South Tyneside boast some of the best attractions in the UK. Offers include buy 1 get 1 free, kids go free or 20% off and will be available from April 2009. Passes cost £2 and are available at selected Tourist Information Centres.You can also buy a pass online.
Arriva Town Guides is a website that provides advice and ideas for places to visit in the North East, suggested by local people. The site is interactive so you can add you own suggestions for other people to read. Visit the website for further information.
The Elders Council of Newcastle's Older Person Friendly City Centre working group produced a report in December 2006 to assess the 'older person friendliness' of Newcastle city centre.
