Citizens Advice Newcastle (CAN)

Citizens Advice Newcastle (CAN) is a charity providing free, confidential and independent advice to people who live, work or study in the city. They give advice by phone, webchat, email and face to face at daily drop in sessions.   They also campaign on big issues when their clients’ voices need to be heard. Daily drop-in sessions with no appointment needed.  Advice includes:

  • money and debt
  • benefits including new claims for Universal credit
  • employment
  • consumer issues
  • housing and homelessness
  • family disputes
  • immigration, citizenship and human rights
  • education
  • health care

Debt and Money Advice:  from dealing with simple debts to bankruptcy, all advice is free and independent.   Advice is available by phone and in-person.  Contact: moneyadvice@newcastlecab.org.uk

Mesothelioma (cancer) welfare benefits advice service: help for anyone affected by mesothelioma including patients, carers and family in the North East.   • in person at City Library. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm, and Thursday from 10am to 5pm (Drop in. No appointment needed)
