Housing Advice Centre – Newcastle City Council

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic the Housing Advice Centre building will not be open for face-to-face advice until further notice. This will help reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus.

The Housing Advice Centre gives free confidential advice to anyone experiencing housing difficulties. This includes problems with rent or mortgage problems as well as basic benefit issues. They can also help with homelessness as well as tenancy problems. Housing advice is part of the Active Inclusion service.

If you need housing advice, are at risk of homelessness or have nowhere to stay, the Housing Advice Centre offers free and confidential advice with the aim of helping people remain in their property or finding alternative accommodation that meets a household’s needs.

They can offer advice by phone Monday to Friday. They also have an Emergency out of hours telephone service. If you have nowhere to stay tonight, contact the Housing Advice Centre. If you have nowhere to stay after 5.30pm, at weekends or bank holidays contact the out of hours service for advice.
