GET INVOLVED WITH NEWCASTLE CAN TO HELP IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH AND WELLBEING

The Newcastle Can campaign has been going since January 2017 and is a movement to try to make Newcastle the healthiest and happiest it can be.  The initial aim was to bring the city together to lose a total of 100,000lbs which was belatedly achieved in June 2018.  However, the campaign is continuing and they hope that Newcastle Can will continue to bring people together and encourage them to keep up with or take up the challenge.

Celebrity chef and campaigner, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, has been working alongside Newcastle Council to ask the people who live, work and play in the city to join up to the campaign, #NewcastleCan, and commit to live a healthier lifestyle.  This campaign featured on Hugh’s BBC programme ‘Britain’s Fat Fight’ and showed how hard it is to avoid the temptations which lead to weight gain in today’s society.  The campaign was used as an example of a way to help fight back against this. You Tube link.
