Arcadea

Arcadea helps learning disabled and autistic people to take part in the Arts and Culture of the North East England. They support and promote the work of disabled artists and help cultural venues to become inclusive and by presenting a programme of arts and cultural activity. They run 2 projects at their HUB Studio:

  • a creative day service for learning disabled adults
  • the ICEbox Youth Club for disabled and autistic young people.

Founded by disabled people in 1991 to address the inequality of disabled people in arts and culture. Arcadea was registered as a charity in 1995 and is based in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.
