Havannah and Three Hills Nature Reserve

A thriving nature reserve sited on the former Hazlerigg Colliery. The nature reserve takes its name from the Havannah drift mine and three slag heaps that dominate the land and is home to a variety of protected and priority species including red squirrels, great crested newts, badgers and a variety of birds of conservation concern.

The reserve has a number of public rights of way and permissive footpaths and bridleways and is popular with cyclists, horse riders and dog walkers.
