Newcastle Diabetes Centre

The Newcastle Diabetes Centre provides support for people who need primary care and specialist diabetes care. Their team includes consultants, nurses, podiatrists and dieticians.

They support people with

Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3c diabetes
Maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY)
Diabetes in pregnancy
Diabetes in renal patients.

They pprovide specialist education for patients with diabetes:

DESMOND
Dose adjustment for normal eating (DAFNE)
Insulin pump education
Diabetes sensors and other technology and various education
Retinal screening for diabetes patients.
