Newcastle Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC)

The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Newcastle is part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and hosted by Newcastle City Council. HDRC Newcastle is one of 30 funded HDRCs in councils across the UK.

HDRC Newcastle tackles health inequalities in the city by supporting the council to do and use research for evidence-based services, so everyone can live healthier, happier lives.

We focus on the broad social factors that influence a person’s health – such as employment, education and housing – rather than healthcare services or individual behaviours and choices.
