Northern Stage

Northern Stage (formerly Newcastle Playhouse) is a theatre located in the north end of the city centre facing the Newcastle University’s student building. They host ambitious theatre, family shows and participatory work.  The building has three performance spaces, two bars and simple and open access for visitors, audiences and performers. The doors are open from 10am every day except Sunday, so that people can drop in and buy tickets. The restaurant opens for breakfast from 10am and food is served until 9pm.  The bar is open til 11pm and often later on performance nights.

Northern Stage is a designated Safe Place for people with learning disabilities.

Northern Stage is a Winter Wellbeing Hub. They’re a warm welcoming place to spend time in Newcastle. They offer a range of support such as hot drinks, free wifi, place to charge your devices, information, advice and more. Visit Newcastle.gov.uk to see what’s available at this hub.

Northern Stage has a Changing Place accessible toilet. These toilets have equipment is to help you to get on and off the toilet, or to change your continence pad. Such as a hoist, a height-adjustable changing bench and a shower. These toilets have more space so your carer or carers can help you if needed. There is a changing area with screens or curtains to give you some privacy. Visit the Changing Places website  to see the opening times and how access them. You can only access the toilets when the buildings are open. You may need a Radar Key to open the toilet.
