RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People)

Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) are a national charity who work with people with sight loss.  Whether you were born with low or no vision or it gets worse at some point in your life, RNIB  provide information, advice and guidance for all things relating to sight loss.

Their services also include:

  • Their Sightline Directory is a free online directory. It contains contact information and a description of services for over 2,000 local and national organisations providing specialist services to blind and partially sighted people.
  • support grants for household items
  • access to their National Library Service
  • A helpline to call for information, guidance and link you to useful local support
  • RNIB Connect Radio – available on Freeview 730 and online www.rnibconnectradio.org.uk
  • resources, guides and training for public and professionals. This includes their Living Well with Sight Loss courses 
  • Their Customer Voice Team have discussion groups and surveys available to help you share your experience of living with sight loss to help shape their work and change society.
