Sight Loss Councils – Tyne and Wear

SLCs are campaign groups of blind & partially sighted people working to drive transformative change & raise awareness across the UK.

They are part of the Thomas Pocklington Trust which provides online information about common eye conditions.

They also operate Vital Tech which is a website that provides advice and guidance through the world of assistive tech for blind and partially sighted people in the UK.

Tyne and Wear Sight Loss Council launched in January 2021.  If you are blind and partially sighted, live in Tyne and Wear and interested in advocating for visually impaired people, they want to hear from you!

If you are interested in finding out more information about volunteering for the Sight Loss Councils, read the Volunteer Role Description on their website. If you would like to apply to become a Sight Loss Council member you can apply on their website.
