The Oswin Project

The Oswin Project provides training, mentoring and access to employment for ex-offenders, mainly but not exclusively, in the Northeast. The team may begin working with ex-offenders during their time in prison or they may be referred after prison or on release through a partner organisation, such as Probation or Job Centre Plus. Ex-offenders may also self-refer.

This organisation works with Newcastle Cathedral running Café 16, staffed by ex-offenders. The café is supplied with fresh produce from the charity’s bakery in HMP Northumberland, where trained bakers support prisoners to learn new skills and find a new direction on release.
