Stephenson Steam Railway

Stephenson Steam Railway is home to a range of working steam and diesel trains including George Stephenson’s ‘Billy’, a forerunner of the world-famous Rocket and the world’s third oldest surviving steam engine. On selected days, you can take a ride on a passenger train pulled by a heritage steam engine or vintage diesel locomotive. The trains are maintained and operated by a team of volunteers.

Cost: Entry to the Museum is free. There is a cost for heritage train rides. Please check their website for train times and special events.
