An afternoon of film, discussion, poetry, and song celebrating the achievements of the Windrush generation and their descendants. Entry to the event is free and their are prizes to be Won!
A chance to understand Windrush, the scandal, its impact and process of compensation. The event will also discuss the continuing hostile environment and the resilience of asylum seekers and refugees.
The event features Nairobi Thompson, Poet in residence for the Windrush foundation and Dr Beverley Prevatt Goldstein, coordinator of the African lives in Northern England project
The event is supported by Marginalities (Northumbria University), North East of England African and Caribbean Association (NEEA&CA) North East Refugee Service (NERS) and Show Racism the Red Card.
