End of Life Doula UK

End of Life Doula UK is a national membership organisation that helps people who have a terminal diagnosis or are near the end of their life as well as their families. Their trained companions, called doulas, give support in many ways:

  • Emotional support: Doulas sit with people, talk to them, and help them feel calm and safe.
  • Speaking Up: They make sure the person’s wishes are heard and respected.
  • Help with planning ahead: Doulas can help with paperwork such as advance plans, legacy plans, and organising other services.
  • Companionship: They keep people company and support them so they don’t feel alone.
  • Support After Death: Doulas help families with what to do after someone dies, like caring for the body or planning a funeral. Some doulas are also Funeral Celebrants and can help with ceremonies.

All doulas have have completed training Living Well Dying Well programme.

The first phone call to discuss support is free. After this some doulas work for free, and some may charge a fee.
