National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria

The National Institute for Health Reasearch (NIHR) Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria supports health and care research. They work to improve health and care outcomes for the people of the North East and North Cumbria through research.

There are lots of ways to get involved in their health and care research. Patients, carers and the public can get involved in:

  • giving your thoughts and opinions on a research study, as a member of a project steering group
  • helping healthcare professionals to develop research materials such as patient and participant information sheets
  • identifying new research topics that are relevant to patients, carers and members of the public
  • making sure that researchers ask the right questions in a way that the public understand

You don’t have to take part in a clinical trial. Visit their website for more information

The Clinical Research Network is made up of 15 Local Clinical Research Networks in England. The local networks coordinate and support the delivery of research across the NHS in England.
