North Newcastle Foodbank
North Newcastle Food Bank delivers low cost food parcels, toiletries and baby items to people across Newcastle. The parcels contain a range of food such as meat, dairy, fresh fruit, vegetables, dried or long life food and frozen food. This will change from week to week depending on what food they have available.
They offer community meals to people on a low income or with health conditions. They provide a weekly menu of items from 60p to £3 each or a meal and a pudding from £4. All orders over £6 free of charge
They deliver to these postcode areas on:
- Monday: NE1, NE2, NE4, NE5, NE15.
- Wednesday: NE5, NE13
- Friday: NE6, NE28, NE29.
- Saturday: emergency parcel deliveries available for professional referrals only
- Delivery is also available to: NE3, NE7, NE8, NE9, NE40
Delivery and service costs: The cost of this service depends on the size of the parcel and the postcode area it is being delivered to. Prices range from £4 to £8 per parcel each week.
To apply for a food parcel email them:
- a copy of a benefits letter such as Universal Credit, Council Tax or Child Benefit, to confirm your name address and the number of people in your home
- full name and date of birth of all the people in your home to provide the right food
- allergies or dietary requirements: are you allergic to dairy, nuts, gluten? Are you vegetarian or vegan?
- preferences: they will try to give you items that you prefer for example, Tampax or pads, tea or coffee, white or brown bread,
- pet food: they get a small amount of animal foods they share out
Professionals can refer people for food parcels. Email the person’s details as described above. Include the name and contact details for the invoice for service and delivery costs. The cost is £6 one off or £24 for 1 Month.
