- one-to-one interview preparation over the phone with an expert coaching volunteers
- keep up to date with recruitment needs
- share support and resources with partners including offering opportunities to volunteers
- signpost clients to other forms of support where needed
Smart Works is a no-cost clothing, styling and coaching service for women who have been invited to a job interview. Clients visit for a two-hour appointment where they are styled by a dressing team. They take away a full outfit for their interview (theirs to keep). Following this, they undertake a 1:1 coaching session with an experienced coach.
60% of clients get a job within a month of using the service (based on outcomes from other cities including Manchester). Those who are successful in obtaining this job are invited back for a second dressing where they will take away several more items of clothing to begin to build a work wardrobe.
Clients must be referred to this service by another organisation who is working with them to help them enter the workforce (e.g. Job Centre Plus, Housing Association, or a relevant charity). The eligibility criteria are: that the client must identify as a woman and have an interview for a paid position lined up.
