The Angelou Centre

The Angelou Centre provides women only support for black and minoritized women across the North East. This includes:

  • information and advice
  • training and employment support
  • access to computers and classes
  • English as a second language courses (ESOL)
  • Women’s English conversation class Wednesday mornings
  • advocacy
  • counselling
  • supporting survivors of Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage, 21st Century Slavery, Domestic Abuse and Trafficking
  • supporting children survivors of Domestic Abuse
  • accommodation for survivors of abuse or violence
  • services for women who have no recourse to public funds
  • women’s café and cookery club
  • older women’s group
  • children With Disabilities Free Expression Club
  • Young Women’s Network (for 16-30 year olds)
  • parenting support
  • creche (for service users only)
  • social and creative activities such as art and sewing

The Angelou Centre is a Wellbeing Hub. They’re a warm welcoming place to spend time in Newcastle. They offer a range of support such as hot drinks, free Wi-Fi, place to charge your devices, information, advice and more. Read more about  Wellbeing Hubs
