Home from Hospital and Community Support

The Home from Hospital and Community Support project helps people in Newcastle recover safely at home after a hospital stay, or when they need a bit of extra support. This may be because they are socially isolated, have health issues, or don’t have people to support them

They provide social, emotional or practical support, Volunteers offer short-term help with things like:

  • shopping,
  • picking up prescriptions or driving to an appointment
  • check in chats by phone or face to face
  • making sure your home is safe.

Volunteering is flexible so you can be a Home from Hospital volunteer and give meaningful help in your community at times that work for you.
