Newcastle City Learning

Newcastle City Learning is your local authority post 16 learning provider, and part of Newcastle City Council. They offer courses for adults, programmes for young people, apprenticeships and employer responsive provision.

They have learning centres at Westgate College and the Skills Centre, the Heaton Centre, and Gosforth Library.

You can choose from foundation or entry level courses, through to Level 5.

Adult learning programmes which include:

  •  ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
  •  Programmes for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities
  •  English and maths
  •  Digital skills
  • Health and Social Care, Beauty, Counselling, Teaching Assistants, Modern Foreign Languages and Arts programmes
  • Employment Skills training
  • Apprenticeships – a wide range of apprenticeship programmes designed to support learners aged 16 and over in gaining valuable workplace skills while achieving nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are available across multiple sectors.
  • Full-time programmes for young people aged 16 – 18
  • Intensive training for young people aged 19 -24 to support them into work.

They offer courses to fit to your schedule, all taught by friendly, experienced and qualified staff.

Ofsted recently rated this provider strong in thirteen out of fourteen judgements.

They are a designated Safe Reporting Centre where people can report hate crime or hate incidents without having to contact the Police directly.
