Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter helps animals across the North East, that are lost, unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned. They reunite lost animals with their owners and find loving new homes for animals that are no longer wanted. They provide care and shelter until a new loving home can be found. They also have a farm where they look after unwanted farm animals. They can help you to:

• think about your options if you are struggling to care for your animal
• look for your lost animal
• volunteer at the shelter to care for the animals or foster animals in your home
• adopt an animal
• donate money or pet items to the shelter
• hire their meeting space

Please note Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter at Claremont Road is closed permanently to the public. This is where lost animals are looked after. Contact them for more information.

They have a charity shop in Benton which sells second hand clothing, household items.
