Willow View – Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit – Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW)

Willow View is a 17 bedded ward based at the St Nicholas Hospital, Gosforth.

It is for adults over 18, with a serious mental illness and complex needs who need rehabilitation in a safe place. They will receive support to help with rebuilding their living skills for a short or medium term period.

These living skills include:

  • daily living skills
  • developing social skills and interests
  • improving self-esteem and self-confidence
  • maintaining contact with family and friends
  • managing problems with alcohol and/or drugs
  • joining education and vocational programmes
  • finding move-on accommodation.

Referrals: a request to be admitted to the unit can only be made through specialist mental health staff or care coordinator.

The inpatient staff include: specialist doctors, nurses and other health care workers.
