Skills for People

Skills for People is a user-led, voluntary organisation working in the North East, inspiring people from across the UK and elsewhere. They work to make sure disabled people can be in control of their own lives, strong confident and included in the communities of their choice.  They support people with learning disabilities and autism.

Northeast Special Needs Network has merged with Skills for People. The team now offer a wide range of information, advice and support services, to disabled children and their families, including help with Education Health and Care Plans, support with applying for grants, benefits, and access to services. They run Pass it on Parents,  a parents group that supports families with children who have additional needs living in Newcastle.

The office is a designated Safe Place for people with learning disabilities.

Skills for People is commissioned by Newcastle City Council for sexual health training for people with learning disabilities.
