Safe families are a faith based charity that provide support for children and families with and through local churches. They support with  befriending, emotional support, practical help and short term respite for children.

Shine On (formerly Caring Hands) offer a range of services for people aged 55  and over in the East of Newcastle upon Tyne. This includes: Community laundrette, handyman and gardening service, social groups, befriending and benefits advice.

Chinese older people’s club that meets every Thursday except the 2nd Thursday of the month.

St James’ and St Basil’s is an Anglican place of worship.

A UK digital support service for young people

the Owl Tree Children’s Café is a community café and themed play space for families with children up to the age of 5 years old.

You can book a slot at the cafe for you and your child or as a group. Each week in the café they have a different theme for small world play, role play, sensory play crafts and songs for children.

They also hold parent meet ups and peer support. The Owl Tree cafe is in the Owl tree community nest, where a range of parent support sessions, other groups and activities are held.
