Newcastle City Learning

Newcastle City Learning is your local post 16 learning provider, and part of Newcastle City Council. They offer courses for adults, programmes for young people, apprenticeships and employer responsive provision.

They have learning centres at Westgate College and the Skills Centre, the Heaton Centre, and Gosforth Library and Learning Centre.

You can choose from foundation or entry level courses, through to Level 5. Courses include:

  • Apprenticeships – a wide range of apprenticeship programmes designed to support learners aged 16 and over in gaining valuable workplace skills while achieving nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are available across multiple sectors including Health and Social Care, Customer Service, Business Administration, Teaching Assistant, Team Leading and Management, Early Years, Customer Service
  • Employment Skills training
  • Full-time programmes for young people
  • Skills for Life for people with learning disabilities or autism
  • Adult learning programmes which include ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), English and maths, Digital skills, Health and Social Care, Beauty, Counselling, Arts, Education and Modern Foreign Languages

They offer daytime and evening courses to fit to your schedule, all taught by friendly, experienced and qualified staff.

They are a designated Safe Reporting Centre where people can report hate crime or hate incidents without having to contact the Police directly.
