Public Health England

Public Health England are a Government organisation which has been created to protect and improve the nation’s health and wellbeing, and reduce health inequalities.

The organisation provides expert public health advice, support and services tailored to local needs. The Northern regional office is based in Leeds but there are local contacts based at the Civic Centre and Gallowgate

They provide health and wellbeing resources and lead public health campaigns eg screening, flu vaccine, drink aware.

They have recently produced a booklet called ‘Active at Home’ to support older people and those who are shielded to be active and healthy at home.
