UK Health Security Agency

Formerly Public Health England, the UK Health Security Agency is a government organisation which has been created to protect the nation’s health. It is responsible for protecting everyone from the impact of infectious diseases, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents and other health threats. It provides intellectual, scientific and operational leadership at national and local level, as well as on the global stage, to make the nation’s health secure.

The Northern regional office is based in Leeds but there are local contacts based at Newcastle Civic Centre and Gallowgate

During Coronavirus, it produced a booklet called Active at Home to support older people and those who are shielded to be active and healthy at home.
