Add InformationNOW to your home screen

You can add InformationNOW to the home screen of your mobile device or smart phone. This is an easy way to quickly open our mobile friendly website on the go. Helping you find the right information at the right time.

Quick guide to add InformationNOW icon to your mobile device

Open your website browser on your smart phone or mobile device.
Visit www.InformationNOW.org.uk
Tap to open the settings in your website browser. This looks different on different web browsers.
For example, on Google Chrome the settings button is 3 dots in the right hand corner of your screen. On other web browsers it is 3 horizontal lines (known as the hamburger icon). It may appear in the right hand corner or at the bottom of your screen.
Select Add to Home Screen
The purple InformationNOW Star icon will appear on your home screen.
When you tap the InformationNOW star icon the website will open for you

How to save InformationNOW to your bookmarks

To save time you can add InformationNOW to your favourites or bookmarks.

Open your website browser on your smart phone, mobile device or desktop computer
Visit www.InformationNOW.org.uk
Right click on the ‘star’ in your website browser to quickly add InformationNOW to your favourites. You can edit the name of the website here too.
You can choose which favourites appear on your ‘favourites bar’
You can also add InformationNOW to your favourites by opening the settings of your website browser

How to install InformationNOW as an app on your desktop computer

Some website browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, allow you to install your favourite website as an app. This means an icon is saved on your desktop or home screen. This gives you quick access to the website. You can ‘pin’ the website to your taskbar for easy access. The website can then be set to open automatically as soon as you open your website browser.

Open your website browser on your desktop computer
Visit www.InformationNOW.org.uk
Open your settings
Click Apps
Click Install this site as an App
Click to Install
Once InformationNOW is installed, select the options that you want. For example you can Pin the app to your taskbar and to allow the app to open automatically.
Click to Allow
The InformationNOW star icon will now appear in your taskbar. Click to open the website. It will open in a new window for you.
