Get online Newcastle
Get Online Newcastle is a partnership between Newcastle City Council and Your Homes Newcastle. They support people living in Newcastle to get online and equip them with valuable digital skills. Their computer courses include:
- Online Basics teaches you how to access and use the internet, send and receive emails and how to attach a CV or photo to an email; it’s a 2 part course.
- Intro to Microsoft Office includes Microsoft Office packages Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It’s a 4 part course. May lead to a City & Guilds qualification
- Techy tea parties take along your own device, laptop, smart phone, tablet or iPad and find out how to complete your basic settings, secure your device and download and navigate apps.
You need an email address to book your place, but don’t worry if you don’t have one, just use email address: getonline@newcastle.gov.uk for now. They will get your booking confirmation email and post your ticket out to you. You can also call or ask a member of staff at your local library or housing hub and they can do it for you. You must live in Newcastle to apply for a place on these courses.
Their digital skills helpline launches on the 31st January 2022 and is open, so if you aren’t already online and need to talk, just call them.
