Barnardo’s is a children’s charity that run over 1,000 services in local communities and support around 300,000 children, young people and families every year. There is a local office based at Cowgate.
During the pandemic they have launched Boloh, a free telephone helpline and web chat facility for children, young people and families from black asian minority ethnic communities who are suffering the long lasting and wide ranging impact of Covid-19. Barnardo’s specialist advisors who speak English, Urdu or Hindi, will help with:
- mental health
- family break-down
- back to school
- parenting advice
- family stress
- barriers to accessing and using services
