Byker Sands Family Centre

Byker Sands centre is a Children and families hub which is run in partnership with Barnardo’s.  Sometimes referred to as Children and Families Newcastle East, the Centre is the focal point to support families with children 0 to 19 years. It includes four distinct services:

  • community hub
  • family partners
  • parenting programmes
  • family support volunteers

Byker Sands also works with partners to offer additional support:

  • Early Help Family Support  related to children and issues of anti-social behaviour, school attendance and emotional wellbeing
  • New Croft Sexual Health Service offering contraception and sexual health clinics
  • North East Autism Hub for parents and carers of children under the age of 7, before, during and after receiving a diagnosis of autism. The hub offers: Introduction to autism workshops, one to one appointments, drop in sessions. Contact Kerrie.
  • mental health support
  • training opportunities, childcare and employability services
  • English language classes (entry level and level 1)

Byker Sands is a  Wellbeing Hub. They’re a warm welcoming place to spend time in Newcastle. They offer a range of support such as hot drinks, free Wi-Fi, place to charge your devices, information, advice and more. Visit Newcastle.gov.uk to see what’s available at this hub.
