North East Autism Society

North East Autism Society (NEAS) is a specialist provider of support for people with autism in the North East. They offer personalised services to meet the needs of people with autism, learning difficulties and disabilities. Services include: education, day services, supported employment, residential care, supported living, respite short- break services, family support and toddler groups.

The North East Autism Hubs

They run 4 face-to-face autism support hubs in Newcastle in partnership with the Great North Children’s Hospital. These hubs are for parent/carers of children pre, during or post diagnosis of autism and under 7 years living in Newcastle. The Hubs are:

Nunsmoor Centre, Studley Terrace. Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 5AH.
Galafield Centre, Newbiggin Lane, Newbiggin Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 1LZ.
Byker Sands Family Centre, 19 Raby Cross, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 2FF.
Fawdon Community Building, NE3 2SN (site of North Fawdon Primary School)

They also offer the Progress North East programme. It is aimed at economically inactive people with:

Learning difficulties
Learning disabilities
Autism
Neurodivergence
Mental ill-health

They offer employment support intervention activities which starts with an assessment of each individual. After assessment, an individualised action plan and schedule of activity are developed for each participant.
